NCI Building Systems, Inc. (NCS), which manufactures metal building components, custom engineered metal building systems and metal coil coaters, reported third quarter earnings on Sep 2 that beat Wall Street estimates by 39.32%. The company raised full year guidance.
Net income rose 49.5% to $31.9 million, or $1.63 per share, from $21.3 million, or $1.02 per share, in the third quarter of 2007. Analysts expected $1.17.
Sales rose 10% to $477.6 million from $434.1 million in the year ago period. The company said that it continued to see solid demand for its diversified steel products from industrial, institutional and agricultural customers.
NCI Raises 2008 Guidance
Despite challenging economic conditions, the company is bullish about the remainder of 2008 given its performance to date, the quarter-end backlog and current bookings. NCS raised it guidance range for 2008 to $3.85 to $4.00 from the previous range of $3.19 to $3.44. It expects fourth-quarter earnings to be in the range of $1.06 to $1.21.
